1974 Glastron Carlson CV16 |
This boat I purchased so that I could template the seats of a Glastron Carlson CV16 to duplicate the size, height, and dimensions of the stock seats in a Glastron Carlson CV16 boat. I already had another cv16 and a GT 150 but the one I had came with no seats and the GT150 was just different enough so that it wouldn't fit. So this puts me up to 4 boats currently... |

1975 Glastron Carlson GT150 |
This is my 1975 Glastron Carlson which I rescued from the garbage dump which a guy I found on Facebook only wanted the trailer which came with this boat to upgrade his fishing trailer. The boat really looked terrible when i picked it up. But simply after washing it for about 45 minutes this is what it looked like. The boat is going to need another motor, floor, and interior as well as a really good buff and possibly wet sand. I'll add more pictures as the project continues. |

1972 Glastron Carlson Restoration Project |
Late last summer my buddy and I found this 1972 Glastron Carlson CV16GT for sale online and got all excited. The boat was listed as a solid, good running, glastron. After a few days time waiting to hear back from the seller, he called and we made a deal for $1300 understanding that it had a solid floor, transom, steering working, engine starting on it's own and running... ... Well, that's not what I found when I got there. Engine only started on ether, floor wasn't even attached under the GLUED carpet, transom was shedding fragments of wood into the bilge... It was a mess. However, the shell of the boat... The actual boat fiberglass was still in good shape. So I've always wanted to restore a boat like this to it's former glory. So a deal was cut for a lower price and a project ensued.. These are the pictures of said project... As it still continues... |

I have spent most weekends this winter working on the upkeep and finish of my boat. I went over the whole boat with Meguires Diamond Cut 2.0 85 and followed that up with two coats of Carnuba wax thanks to my friends Dan, Jerry and Clarke... Thanks guys! |

2015 Chicago Boat Show pictures |
This year I went to the Chicago Boat show with a neighbor on a Thursday. It was surprisingly busy this year! They put the show in the south hall which is a completely new location for the show to be in. The floorspace is probably 3 times the size of the former hall at McCormick Place. There were some new impressive yachts to see, but I was mainly looking for ideas to do improvements to my existing yacht. Hope you enjoy if you didn't make it this year... |

Sarasota to Ft. Myers Florida Poker Run |
I was on my way to a secret beach in Ft. Myers when out of the corner of my eye, I saw a Fountain 48 with the triple Yanmar diesels... I just had to check it out. What I found was a bunch of incredible offshore boats that had just arrived from Sarasota Florida having just completed a Poker Run. I just wish I could have witnessed them all arriving! |

2013 Chicago Boat Show. The show in my eyes was a bit of a disappointment. I go to the shows to see the new technologies, new products, to buy new products, and to get ideas for my boat for refit products and resources to improve my boat. At this show there are no big boats from Sea Ray, Bayliner, Rinker, Go Fast Boats, or any of the Italian boats. They simply don't exist in some cases. If you want a ski boat, fishing boat, or a small selection of the larger cruisers, go to the show. Boat shows just aren't what they used to be. |

Red Bull Flug Tag Chicago trip |
Friday night I got off and went straight to the boat to take it up the river to do the Red Bull Flug Tag event. I've wanted to do this for years. We traveled 5 hours by river to see this knowing full well that the lake might be kicked up a bit too much for the event. The weather report called for 6-9 footers on the lake. We went anyway... Saw a run in Chicago and had a great river cruise in both directions and only burned about 20 gallons of diesel... |

2012 Chicago Air and Water Show |
Here are my pictures from the 2012 Chicago Air and Water show. We arrived at about 1:30 on Friday - the 2nd practice day right at the very end to see the Blue Angels perform. We also went out to check out the big Number 45 Navy ship that was anchored off shore about a mile. Wow! It's pretty cool seeing something like that in Chicago! |
