Here is a boat to get excited about. This is a Californian, made in Taiwan.  Every now and then you run across a boat of this calibre. Here's what we mean: "Kodiak" is a fresh water boat that has truly been loved and it really shows in the extra touches: there are two Norcold refrigerators (one for fish) and a custom-made bar in the salon. She has complete canvas coverage which includes custom fitted exterior, see-thru privacy screens and insect screens for every opening in the boat. The upholstery is woven Native American fabric, which is extremely comfortable and very durable. Kodiak is carpetted throughout.

Fiberglass decks provide ease of maintenance and are cool to the feet. Exterior wood (just enough to accent it's classic trawler lines) is in excellent condition and treated with Cetol. It's wide walk around and large transom deck are perfect for fishing or entertaining. Her moderate size makes her ideal for docking or maneuvering in tight places, and helpful in finding an open slip when visiting unknown ports. Her main-deck single-level design, large wrap-around windows, and twin sliding doors, provides plenty of interior light and a 360 view from either steering station as well. Wide comfortable side decks make moving from the dock through the transom door to the bow or lower helm a breeze. The spacious fly-bridge provides seating for 10 and a full bimini from helm to radar arch.

One of the most thoughtful additions is a mister for the aft deckdriven by the wash down pump for those super hot days. There is custom cover to provide shade on the aft deck. The aft deck is a fantastic fishing platform. Fishing is what trawlers were created for after all. That same aft deck area is great for entertaining or relaxing. Kodiak features an up galley adjoining the salon. The fly- bridge, which can seat ten, is another area that guests seem to enjoy especially. The view is a full 360.

Kodiak features a beautifully matched mahogany interior that is warm and inviting. She sleeps two in a large Master Suite forward. The port side settee, with its 11' length, can be pressed into service as a second berthing area for one. It faces a high-low table that is stowable. She comes with a single head with stall shower. The galley, on the starboard side is fully equipped including an Emerson microwave and a full three burner Princess stove that has never been used. The lower shelves are custom slide-out type. It makes it easier to reach those back shelf items.

Below decks you find a clean, accessible environment managed by a very fastidious Diesel Mechanic-Owner. Access to the engine spaces with a 4 foot clearance, is complete with entry fore, aft and from above in the salon area. Kodiak carries an Onan 4Kw Genset. The engines carry 3,840 hours and are in excellent condition. The engines start on the first cold crank. Oil is changed every 150 hours and she burns very little. Kodiak is very economical to operate burning only seven gallons per hour running both engines, cruising at 10 knots. Kodiak's owners have all records and logs consistent with constant monitoring and upkeep. The drive shafts feature dripless shaft seals.

The flybridge carries most of the instrumentation carried on the lower helm, except the radar screen and features new electronic tachs. The other difference is an Icom ICM59 VHF on the flybridge. With a 360 view this twin engine Californian is very easy to drive and handles blue water with ease. She has fished the Farallons, the Northwest and Mexico.
